Eliza Clifford is an arts educator, printmaker, and multidisciplinary artist from Maryland.
Her work explores ideas of womanhood, mental health, gender, and how identities are constructed (and destructed) in modern day society. As a multidisciplinary artist, she experiments in a variety of mediums, including printmaking, book arts, design, alternative photography, natural dyeing, and quilting/sewing.
Clifford has worked at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Women’s Studio Workshop, the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, Arts on the Block, and the Metropolitan Center for Visual Art (VisArts). She has been an artist in residence at the Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Remarque Print Workshop. Clifford has been featured in exhibitions at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Washington Printmakers Gallery, Second State Press, the Baltimore Fine Print Fair, the Morgan Conservatory, the Torpedo Factory Art Center, William Patterson University, and Kent State University.
Lavender Lizard Press is a small handmade goods shop by Eliza Clifford (she/her) established in 2019 and based in Maryland. Through Lavender Lizard, Eliza creates illustrations and visual narratives which she translates onto prints, zines, fabrics, handmade journals, and other goods. All products are designed, dyed, printed, and made by hand.
